Shugart SA-1004 8" Hard Drive

Anyone ever work with a Shugart SA-1004 hard drive? The 79' controller interface specification shows MFM data read/write lines on the J2 20 pin connector. It has some interesting history. What kind of hardware and effort would it take to spin it up on an S100?

Several S-100 machines supported hard drives by the end. Vector Graphic had a single board that supported floppy and hard drive interfaces. I’ve stayed away from hard drives because they’re not as easily repaired as a floppy drive.
