ACR With SOL-20?
Could the ACR interface in the Clone be modified to read SOL-20 tapes? Is it more than just changing the baud rate? I see the Clone can run CUTER so I'd like to be able to run some SOL-20 software.

Re: ACR With SOL-20?
Most production tapes from Processor Technology were written at 1200 baud "normal" format on one side and in 300 baud KCS format on the other side. Likewise, the Sol-20 can write tapes in both the native 1200 value format or the 300 baud KCS format. The Altair Clone cassette interface can already read the KCS format, so you could write tapes from your Sol-20 in the 300 baud format and the Altair Clone should be able to read them.
That being said, very few Sol-20 programs are going to run like you'd expect on the Altair (e.g., the cool games) since the Altair console device is just a serial terminal and not the Sol-20 or VDM-1 video board.
