Even Better Deal!
Mike, your Altair Clone is even a better deal than it was before! I see an original Altair 8800 on eBay with actual bids (not just asking price) of $7000.00 and the reserve isn't even met! Usually Altairs were going for $2K - $3K but this is ridiculous! I'm glad I have my Clone!

That's an interesting auction. Amazing condition. It may set and Altair/eBay record.

To me a Grant Stockly Altair kit would be much more worth than any original Altair, whatever its serial number. As a person interested in computers since around just when the original Altair was announced, I don't feel any attraction to symbolic value. It's the computer that interests me. Thus, an exact copy like Grant's kit, just with better silkscreen and high quality switch mode power supplies but otherwise the same.. even to having the original Optima case.. I find it way more interesting. I couldn't get the money together the last time that was available, but Mike's clone is the next best thing! A close thing too, as it's only the Altair bus which is not there. Glad I got one!

Yeah I remember the days I've spent looking for an Altair.
When I heard of Mike's Clone I couldn't believe my eyes I was so excited.
I love my Altair Clone, I'm learning a lot every day

This is an amazing looking unit given its age, but the winning bid of US$9001... crazy!
