Altair 8800 Clone

Postby mpastor » July 1st, 2014, 7:03 am

Hello everyone:

I'm Miguel Angel. I write from the city of Valencia, Spain. I am new here in forum. Sorry for my English, is low.

I own an Altair 8800 computer. I am very happy with the quality of the computer. It really is incredible. Now I am learning to use it. Yesterday I ran the "Kill the bit game" program. It worked correctly.

In Spain few people know this computer. When I was 14 years old, I bought the book Bill Gates: Camino al futuro >> Bill Gates: The road ahead. In that book I knew the Altair 8800 computer and the magazine Popular Electronics. I bought (year 2009) on Ebay, Popular Electronics magazine-January 1975. It is a piece of computer history.

Thank you very much to all and to Mike.
Miguel Angel.

Hi all:
I connected to the Altair 8800 computer. If someone helps, I used the following cables:

DB25M - DB9F Standard.

DB9M - USB: Belkin F5U103v
Software: F5U103 Driver Installer.exe

Details of my system:

Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit.
USB 2.0
TeraTerm terminal

Everything works correctly. When I connect the Altair, the STOP and Left AUX connected switches, display the menu of the Altair 8800 on screen. The cable was purchased at Amazon.

Thanks.
Miguel A. Pastor.
