This is an exciting week. It was 50 years ago this week - the week before Christmas in 1974 - when "Popular Electronics" issued its most popular issue of all time.

The reason for its popularity is that this is the issue that introduced the Altair 8800.

It seems like "a while back" but it doesn't seem that long ago!

I still fondly remember those magazines, Popular Electronics, Byte, and the processor-specific ones too. Wasn't so long ago!

I feel very privileged to have been part of this era it was because of this I have had a very successful IT career my only regret was that at the time these kits came out I was unable to afford one.
