IMSAI 8080 Replica project

Postby ribarrjr » April 2nd, 2024, 12:30 am

I recently built the IMSAI 8080 replica made by The High Nibble and am very happy with it. Unfortunately I lost the blue cover that covers the outside and acts as a sort of stand for the machine. I thought this might be a good opportunity to build a full size cabinet to house it similar to my Altair Clone.

If anyone happens to have access to one would they be willing to take some measurements of the vent slots and their relative position to the top, front, and interspacing for me I would be very grateful! I know that the original cabinet was about 17 in. deep and I plan on just making sure the height and depth match those to fit the form around the emulator.

Thanks!

Did you get what you need for this project yet? If not, I can measure my IMSAI.

Sorry for the late reply I haven't been able to locate drawings as of yet. I would greatly appreciate the assistance!

The slots are 1" tall (to the radius tips) x 3/16" wide. Radius appears to be 3/32".

Vertical spacing is 1.125". The bottom of the bottom slot is 1.5" above the bottom of the cabinet.

Horizontal spacing is 25/64". The center of the rear-most slot column is 2" from the rear edge of the cabinet.
