TAPE BASED DISK BOOT LOADERS (DBL)

These tapes are used to boot an Altair floppy disk in computers without the DBL ROM. The procedure for loading the tape is the same as for loading a BASIC tape.

The front-panel bootstrap loader for the DBL tape is the same bootstrap loader you'd choose to load Extended BASIC version 4.x. Set front panel switches for the terminal device and load device per version 4 loader settings.

File "DBLv4.TAP" 
	This is the original DBL tape provided by Altair. It can only
	load Disk BASIC versions 4.x and Altair DOS. It fails to load
	newer versions of Disk BASIC and CP/M floppies.

File "DBLv4-5.TAP"
	This is a modified version of the DBL tape that duplicates the
	operation of the DBL ROM. It can load versions 4 and 5 of
	Disk BASIC as well as most any other bootable floppy.
